Case Study: Our award-winning eco-homes in Tollerton, Nottingham, (near Plumtree), for a home builder client.

Winner of the ‘Best Small Housing Development’ at the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2014 (East Midlands) and a national finalist, the architectural designs were carried out by Paul Day BSc (Hons) MCIAT of PD Architecture.

Our designs led to the creation of 7 New A and B rated eco-homes in Nottingham. (All homes were actually designed with the potential to be A-rated properties but were subject to the home buyers selected options at the time of purchase).

Some of the green technologies introduced (and cutting edge at the time) included Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV Panels, Rainwater Harvesting, mechanical heat recovery ventilation and heat recovery from the stove.

The green technologies were supplemented by efficient underfloor heating designs and a high thermal mass to keep the internal environment a consistent temperature whilst using the least energy possible.
