Garden Room Extension
Case Study: Garden Room Extension in Wymeswold, Melton Mowbray, Leicester for a private residential client. Architectural designs Paul Day BSc (Hons) MCIAT of PD Architecture.
Architectural Brief:
Our brief was simple, to provide a new extension to the property on the footprint of an old, dilapidated conservatory. (Quite a typical project undertaken here at PD Architecture as homeowners find their conservatories too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, leaving the space not used as much as they would like).
This Garden Room extension in Wymeswold, Melton Mowbray, Leicester also featured in an article in the ‘Real Homes’ Magazine in 2011.
The feature glazed gable, vaulted ceiling and rooflights all helped to provide a light, contemporary and luxurious feel to the new extended area of the building, whilst facilitating ample borrowed light to the rooms of the dwelling that were extended. (A key feature and requirement when extending off of existing rooms to avoid them becoming too dark and unwelcoming spaces).
Location: Wymeswold, Melton Mowbray, Leicester
