SELF BUILD IN RUDDINGTON, NOTTINGHAM

Another self build home design from PD Architecture on the drawing board and getting ready for a start on site. Set in the greenbelt, this self build in Ruddington, Nottingham was designed for multi-generational living, and is part subterranean to limit its impact on the open countryside.

Working alongside our friends at BJT Architects on this project, PD Architecture were engaged to facilitate the building regulation application drawings and specifications and to co-ordinate the client design changes and planning alterations to provide the basis for the tendering, structural calculations, energy assessments, building control approval and construction drawings.

Architectural Design:

The property has been designed to be thermally efficient including triple glazing, underfloor heating and a high thermal mass.  The green technologies allowed for in our designs included a ground source heat pump and solar (PV) panels.  The plant room houses a thermal store and ample space for battery storage providing the best of modern technologies for a truly energy efficient building.
